Administration change at Food and Nutrition Service

Audrey Rowe has been appointed administrator for USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service, replacing Julie Paradis, who is retiring on April 1, Undersecretary for Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services Kevin Concannon has announced.

Paradis was a longtime aide on the House Agriculture Committee and also served at FNS in the Clinton administration.

Rowe has been serving as deputy administrator for special nutrition programs at FNS. She was previously deputy mayor for human resources in New Haven, Conn., social services commissioner for the state of Connecticut and the District of Columbia, and executive vice president and chief operating officer of the National Urban League.
