EWG updates its farm subsidy database

The Environmental Working Group released today the latest update of its farm subsidy database.
The 2011 database tracks $222.8 billion in subsidies paid from 1995 to 2010, the group said in a news release. EWG’s farm subsidy database also details taxpayer-funded crop insurance program payments, which have been rising in comparison with other farm subsidies.
