Ag committee hearings set for this week

The House Agriculture Committee is holding two hearings this week while Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., is preparing to hold her first hearing on the next farm bill in Michigan on Saturday.
The House Agriculture Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. on the state of the beef industry and a hearing Thursday at 9:30 a.m. to review market promotion programs and other efforts to expand U.S. agricultural exports
The Senate hearing, “Opportunities for Growth: Michigan and the 2012 Farm Bill,” will provide an opportunity for 14 Michigan witnesses to testify.
