CFTC to hold public meeting

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission will hold a public meeting next Tuesday to consider several issues, CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler announced today.

Gensler is scheduled to leave his position at the end of the year, and Commissioner Bart Chilton has announced that he will also leave the commission soon.

The meeting will be held at the CFTC headquarters and will begin at 9:30 a.m.

According to a news release, the commission will consider the following issues:
  • Proprietary Trading and Certain Interests in and Relationships with Covered Funds
  • Core Principle 9 for Designated Contract Markets
  • Block Trading for Futures and Options on Futures Contracts and Centralized Market Trading on Designated Contract Markets
