Obama: Immigration reform, farm bill still needed

In remarks tonight after the Senate vote approving an end to the government shutdown, President Barack Obama said he would sign the agreement immediately once it arrives on his desk.

Obama acknowledged “there is lot of work ahead of us” to restore public confidence in government and to address “the real issues they care about.”

“There are things that we know will strengthen our economy,” Obama said. “We need to fix our broken immigration system, and we still need to pass a farm bill.”
