Western Growers has hired Maximilian Merrill as federal government affairs analyst in its Washington office.
Merrill was the environmental program and policy specialist for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
He has a bachelor arts degree in natural resources and a bachelor of science degree in hydrology from North Carolina State University, and a law degree from Vermont Law School.
Originally from Ligonier, Pa., Merrill runs a small buffalo farm in his home state.
