Secor retires from Dow AgroSciences

Jake Secor, the director of federal government affairs for Dow AgroSciences, announced his retirement today.
Secor, who holds a doctoral degree in agronomy and botany from Iowa State University, began his career at Dow AgroSciences in 1983 in the plant growth regulator discovery group and continued his career as a research scientist until moving into the government and public affairs arena in 1998.
He initially focused on state government regulation and assumed his current position in 2007.
He has been a member of the Strategic Oversight Council of CropLife America, the board of directors of the Mid America Crop Protection Association, the chair of the federal and the private sector chair of the agriculture subcommittee of the American Legislative Exchange Council.
Secor has not announced future plans but said he intends to remain professionally active.
