Immigration reformers increase ranks in Congress

The number of senators and House members who are inclined to support immigration reform, a key issue to certain agricultural sectors, will increase in the next Congress, according to an analysis by America’s Voice, a pro-immigration reform group.

In 15 House races that the group identified as elections to watch, supporters of immigrant rights won 10, America’s Voice said.

In six Senate races it listed to watch, supporters of immigrant rights won four, the group said, while the positions of the candidates in the other two races are unclear.

America’s Voice also released scorecards on the House and Senate races.
