Global Harvest report highlights needs in sub-Saharan Africa and East Asia

The Global Harvest Initiative said Wednesday in its third annual Global Agricultural Productivity Report that sub-Saharan Africa and East Asia will find it increasingly difficult to meet food demand in their regions if investments in infrastructure and other needs of farmers are not met.

The group, funded by DuPont, Elanco, IBM, John Deere, and Monsanto to encourage agricultural productivity increases worldwide, released the report at the World Food Prize ceremonies in Des Moines.
