Bruce Rohwer, an Iowa corn farmer, will serve as doorkeeper of the Democratic National Convention, the convention's rules committee announced today.
Rohwer farms near Paullina in northwest Iowa, raising corn and soybeans and horses and hogs on more than1,000 acres, the announcement said, adding that he is a member of the Rural Iowans for Obama Steering Committee.
Rohwer serves as vice president of the Iowa Corn Growers Association. A blog post from Rohwer on the ICGA website noted that Iowa Corn Growers has a Corn Caucus Project that is tracking the candidates on issues important to corn.
