Crop insurers launch photo contest

In what appears to be an attempt to demonstrate the importance of crop insurance as Congress continues to consider the farm bill, National Crop Insurance Services has announced that it is sponsoring a contest of farm photos showing the impact of the 2012 drought.

Entries will be accepted through midnight EST, on Friday, September 21.

Visitors to the site will be able to vote on the photos from September 22 through November 21. At the close of the contest, the top three photos will be ranked and awarded prizes, the first of which will be an iPad.

Interested parties can follow NCIS on Twitter and Facebook to stay up-to-date with the contest’s progress.
