Fertilizer group names Hebebrand director general

The International Fertilizer Association has named Charlotte Hebebrand as its new director general beginning Jan. 1, 2013, the IFA announced today at its annual conference in Doha, Qatar.
Hebebrand is the current chief executive of the International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council, a think tank based in Washington.
Hebebrand has held positions at the European Commission and the Brookings Institution. She holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins University and is a dual German and U.S. citizen.
Hebebrand will start working at IFA’s office in Paris on Sept. 1 and will work for four months with Luc Maene, IFC's current director general, before he retires at the end of the year.
IFA is a trade association representing the global fertilizer industry, with some 540 members in about 86 countries.
