The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced today that Richard Lobb, former communications director for the National Chicken Council, has been hired to serve as managing director for the Council for Biotechnology Information.
Lobb will lead CBI's efforts to communicate science-based information about the benefits and safety of agricultural biotechnology and its contributions to sustainable development, BIO President Jim Greenwood said.
In a news release, BIO noted that when he was at the National Chicken Council the Wall Street Journal once referred to Lobb as “The Merchant of Drumsticks.”
Lobb has also worked in public relations and public affairs for more than 15 years with Fleishman-Hillard and the DCM Group.
