Smith to join American Farmland Trust in August

Katherine "Kitty" Smith will join the American Farmland Trust as vice president of programs and chief economist on August 15, AFT announced today.
Smith’s retirement as administrator of the Agriculture Department’s Economic Research Service was announced this month.
Smith will oversee research and policy development for the organization and administer programs concerning farmland protection, agriculture and the environment, and a sustainable future for agriculture, AFT said.
